Spiritual Warfare

Protected by God's Presence

Spiritual warfare isn’t always loud. Sometimes it comes wrapped in light, dressed in spiritual language, and cloaked in charm. But when you walk with God, your spirit knows. Even when your mind wants to give the benefit of the doubt—the Holy Spirit never lies.

One of My Most Personal Encounters with Spiritual Warfare

One of the clearest and most confronting experiences I’ve had with spiritual warfare happened recently, through an encounter with someone who presented themselves as a spiritual healer.

He spoke of angels and light. He used spiritual words. He claimed divine alignment. On the surface, he seemed like someone who had walked a sacred path.

But underneath, there was a charge, an energetic dissonance I couldn’t ignore. Something in my body didn’t feel safe. Something in my spirit whispered, stay alert.

As time unfolded, that whisper became a roar.

He became agitated. Angry. Accusing me of being a witch, of fighting him spiritually. He truly believed I was deflecting him, pushing him back, blocking him from connecting.

But here is the truth:

I wasn’t fighting. I wasn’t casting anything. I was simply standing still.

What he felt was not my energy rejecting him. It was God’s protection.

It was the Holy Spirit shielding me from what wasn’t pure.

I realised in that moment that spiritual warfare doesn’t always come from those who know they’re in darkness. Sometimes it comes from those who believe they are light, yet carry unresolved ego, spiritual pride, or darker forces they’ve not yet faced.

When You're Covered, You Don’t Have to React

I didn’t argue. I didn’t defend. I didn’t explain. Because I didn’t have to.

I wasn’t alone in that moment. God was with me. His peace covered me. His discernment had already revealed the truth.

I wasn’t deflecting him—he was being stopped by something greater than me.

And that’s what I want others to know:

When you’re walking in truth, when you’re aligned with God, you don’t need to fight darkness. You need only stand still. The Holy Spirit does the rest.

How to Recognise Spiritual Warfare

  • A sudden shift in energy that feels heavy or chaotic

  • People speaking spiritual truths but carrying controlling or manipulative undertones

  • Guilt, confusion, or doubt that doesn’t feel like your own

  • Feeling spiritually drained after being around someone who claims to be in light

These are not always attacks. But they are invitations to pause, discern, and anchor deeper into God’s truth.

Final Reflections

God’s protection isn’t loud. It’s complete.

You may not always understand what’s happening in the moment, but trust the whisper that says something’s not right. That whisper may be the Holy Spirit guiding you to safety.

I don’t fight battles anymore. I stand in light. And what can’t match that light simply falls away.

There’s no need to be afraid of spiritual warfare, not when you know who walks with you.
